  • Sacramento CDIF Receives Unanimous Approval
    Last week, the Sacramento City Council unanimously voted to approve the Citywide Development Impact Fee (CDIF) program. Key components of the new law include: implementation of a fee deferral ordinance, proposed by BIA staff and members; reductions to park fees as well as Quimby park dedication requirements; and a new transportation impact fee.     Upcoming Pub Fundraiser for Building Industry
    Join us at Monk's Cellar on Thursday, March 30, at 5:30 p.m. for good food, drinks and conversation with Placer County's leading builders and political leaders. This event will kickoff the year's first political fundraiser for the BIA to support candidates in 2018. During the 2016 election cycle we raised $250,000. Tickets to this event are $150.     Placer County Building Permitting Available Online
    Placer County has launched its online permitting process and will now allow licensed contractors to obtain permits for heating and air condition installation, re-roofing, water heater replacement, solar installation, window change outs, mechanical and electrical work. The online portal is available through the Building Services Division’s permit portal.

    Placer County Affordable Housing Opportunity
    The Placer County Board of Supervisors approved a letter of commitment on February 7 to Meta Housing Corporation for $1.25 million of Mental Health Service Act dollars in exchange for setting aside 10 housing units for MHSA-eligible Placer County. The project will feature 77 apartments, 38 of which will provide supportive housing for veterans and other individuals with special needs, and 3,500 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor. All Placer County funds for the project will be allocated from MHSA state funding and no county general fund dollars will be required.  

    Vacant Seat on Placer County Planning Commission
    The Placer County Planning Commission is looking to fill a vacant seat for its District 5 representative. Interested candidates may complete an application on the county’s website and return it to the clerk of the board. For more information, follow this link.

    City of Folsom General Plan Update
    The City of Folsom is updating its General Plan. A preliminary Public Review Draft of the General Plan is available on the city’s website and a series of public worships have been scheduled. For more information on the City of Folsom’s General Plan update, click here.

    City of Sacramento Public Hearing for Homeless Preference in Subsidized Housing
    The City of Sacramento’s Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) is considering establishing a homeless preference for the Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing programs. For more information on the public workshops and hearings, click here.

    Placer County Affordable Housing Update
    BIA staff met with Placer County staff this week to discuss the county's in lieu fee. County staff is holding off on releasing the study at this time and we will be holding follow up meetings with member affordable housing experts and county staff to see if we can find solutions to some of their affordable housing issues.
